Mostly very straightforward. That’s no bad thing, though, and the surfaces are generally pretty good and amusing too.

A perfectly acceptable puzzle of middling difficulty.

Hello everybody, and happy Saturday. This was a dnf, but I was amazed that it was only by one. In the end I was quite pleased really with my 76 minutes on the timer and single error. Thanks, setter, for the brain teasing.

I was very slow getting going but after a while it mostly flowed along quite nicely.

Hello again. It seems no time at all since my last blog… it is a consequence of all these dratted public holidays that tend to litter this part of the calendar. No worries though, I enjoyed this clever effort. Fine surfaces, all good stuff.

Another luxury Jumbo for a second week in a row – a class above the ordinary with more richly flavoured wordplay and entertaining surfaces in places, but still not too difficult.

I can safely say that this was one of the best Jumbos I’ve had the pleasure to blog.

Hi all. This puzzle was published on New Year’s Day and already it feels like the year is far from new. I recorded 77 minutes so must have found it pretty tricky – or been very tired! There’s an obvious COD for me at 34d. Thanks setter!
