Hello again. This Jumbo I found to be a steady solve, though there did seem to be quite a few clues, CDs and DDs where once you have the answer it is obvious, but if not, not..

Times Cryptic Jumbo No 1717 – 15th February
Mostly very straightforward. That’s no bad thing, though, and the surfaces are generally pretty good and amusing too.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1716 – an elf, an imp, an emu and a lion walk into a bar
A perfectly acceptable puzzle of middling difficulty.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1715 – 1 Feb 2025. A better fail than expected
Hello everybody, and happy Saturday. This was a dnf, but I was amazed that it was only by one. In the end I was quite pleased really with my 76 minutes on the timer and single error. Thanks, setter, for the brain teasing.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1714 (25 January 2025)
I was very slow getting going but after a while it mostly flowed along quite nicely.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1713 – 18 January 2025
Hello again. It seems no time at all since my last blog… it is a consequence of all these dratted public holidays that tend to litter this part of the calendar. No worries though, I enjoyed this clever effort. Fine surfaces, all good stuff.
Times Cryptic Jumbo No 1712 – 11th January
Another luxury Jumbo for a second week in a row – a class above the ordinary with more richly flavoured wordplay and entertaining surfaces in places, but still not too difficult.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1711 – put wood i’ thole.
I can safely say that this was one of the best Jumbos I’ve had the pleasure to blog.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1710 – 1 January 2025. I found myself!
Hi all. This puzzle was published on New Year’s Day and already it feels like the year is far from new. I recorded 77 minutes so must have found it pretty tricky – or been very tired! There’s an obvious COD for me at 34d. Thanks setter!
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1709 Saturday 28 December 2024
I was slow to start and very slow to finish off the last few but in between the answers flowed nicely.
