This Bank Holiday extra Jumbo was extra tasty with some chewy bits.

This was a super puzzle with a number of very good anagrams and some top class clues warranting a big tick.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1790 – 16 May 2026. Not my kind of party …
… but my kind of puzzle! Hello everybody. I left this until the bank holiday Monday to solve, so it is to the setter’s credit that I managed to enjoy it despite the punishingly hot weather and resulting lack of sleep. I enjoyed the summer treat in 24a and the strange cocktail in 36d. Cheers setter!

Largely straightforward but with a few NHOs and tricker clues.
