I found this Jumbo a bit tricky in parts, taking just over an hour to complete.

This was a toughie but goodie. I was diverted for well over an hour solving and parsing everything.

Hi everyone.  This was a confidence booster as despite a few unknowns or barely-knowns I found everything provided to enable me to enter it all in reasonable confidence – and in very reasonable time (for me) of under 40 minutes too.  Thanks setter!

This entertaining Jumbo was cracked in a slow-quick-slow manner finishing in the NW corner.

I’d put this on the harder side of average, taking 50 minutes to sort everything out.  There were a few quiblettes / minor eyebrow raisers but nothing too heinous.

There are some touches here I thought really neat, for example the exchange at meeting in 33d.  Lots of cryptic definitions, a couple of cocktails (an alternative drink is available in 41d) and a party or two to enjoy.  Thanks setter!
