A witty, enjoyable offering for this Wednesday.

Horses need have no fear!

This puzzle should not have been that hard, but a number of clues required a little thought.    I only got two across clues on first read, so I started my solve there and gradually spread out.

11:58, reflecting a gentler offering which was much appreciated after both the heat wave this week, as well the difficulty of my last several blog puzzles. I enjoyed this greatly: excellent clues through and through! Though now that I’ve had my rest, I feel ready for a challenge again!

Time taken: 8:36. Might be an end to the run of Tricky Thursdays.

I didn’t find this easy, and kept wandering off down blind alleys until the right paths emerged.

Very enjoyable but tough with some tricky definitions and wordplay.
