Due to a busy weekend, I haven’t solved a puzzle since Thursday, but this one is a moderate Monday, easy without being too easy.   The early solvers did well, but there are a few tricks and obscurities that may catch the less able.

With 9a, not crosswords! My time was 41:52, with 11 minutes spent on the aforementioned clue. I am pleased to report I put the answer together entirely from wordplay, which was true for most of this puzzle. It’s the kind of puzzle I prefer!

Time taken: 10:39. Weird experience, the whole bottom of the grid was full before I had about a quarter of the top finished.

Hello again. This crossword I thought was harder than average, with a strong American flavour and couple of clues I have had trouble parsing

I had nothing until I got half way through the acrosses, but then everything slipped into place nicely
