Izetti can sometimes be quite gentle but that’s not how I would describe today’s puzzle.
Month: August 2024
Times Cryptic 28994
An interesting puzzle with a few tricky answers but all of them deducible from wordplay.
Times 28993 – Just like riding a bicycle
It’s almost as if I hadn’t been away, as I return to a steamy Hong Kong and a straightforward (for me – but clearly not for everyone) Monday puzzle.
Times Quick Cryptic 2752 by Jimmy
I found this straightforward, but how did you do?
Mephisto 3336 – Thanks, Paul!
I always do well with Paul McKenna puzzles, and this was no exception. Although I didn’t finish it in one sitting, when I came back the next morning it was pretty to finish off.
Sunday Times Cryptic No 5123 by David McLean — Stumped? In a pickle?
Relax, take your time. Sunday’s fun day! We’ve got games, drinks, drugs, a little fooling around…
Quick Cryptic no 2751 by Mara
Hiddens aplenty today!
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1685 – 27 July 2024. Silly!
Hello all. I found this gentle enough for the most part, but fell over at the end. There were a couple of trickier clues, but the one I failed on was for the unfamiliar 18a. No matter: there was plenty to entertain here and I enjoyed the ride. Thanks setter!
Times Cryptic 28986 – Saturday, 3 August 2024. A semi-open book.
There seemed to be a lot of clues where I could see the answer from the definition, but laboured to see the wordplay.
Times Cryptic No 28991 — A week in the woods
26:22, although I spent far too long dithering over my last two entries, not really being able to parse them. I’m filling in for William this week, writing this blog from the misty woods of Phoenicia, NY, where we are enjoying cooler than usual weather. I found this puzzle to be gentle, though not without interest. A fitting conclusion to a week of hiking and board games with friends and family.
