Someone asked recently how hard Saturdays are, compared with the SNITCH of weekday puzzles. My guess would have been typically perhaps 90-100 on the SNITCH. This one might have rated higher!

Only one comment in the margin of my copy, at 26ac. Otherwise, smooth sailing.

This was reasonably easy to solve, and very easy to write up!

Lots of clues struck me as having a novel flavour, and 24ac is superb.

There seemed to be a lot of clues where I could see the answer from the definition, but laboured to see the wordplay.

I found this harder than recent Saturdays. Progress was along the diagonals – the NW and SE put up most resistance. I loved the clever clueing and applauded the scarcity of obscurities!

There were a lot of neat clues and cute ideas here.

The western side of this puzzle put up good resistance!

Not terribly hard for a Saturday, although some of the definitions eluded me for a while.

I enjoyed this. An interesting tidbit about old bikes!
