Who’s who and who’s doing what

Guardian, Times and FT setter Michael Curl has just set up a Crossword Who’s Who on his website. It looks very good to me but I’m slightly biased as he included me. A little puzzle before you look at it: Which is the only letter of the alphabet for which there are (so far) no pseudonyms or real surnames of crossword people?

As I think I’ve rather vaguely indicated before, Sabine has given up her fortnightly Friday reporting slot for a place on the subs’ bench. Dave Perry has volunteered for this slot and will start next Friday. Thanks to both Sabine and Dave for their past and future work.

    Michael Curl here. I’d like to thank Peter for mentioning my Crossword Who’s Who project.

    I must point out that this is a work in progress. Although much information is included, I am aware that there are still some significant omissions, which I am working as fast as possible to remedy. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you notice anything missing or incorrect.

  2. In homage to another and because they made one’s skin crawl, I once set crosswords under the name Urticaria. Needless to say, no one would publish them!
