Times xwd club log-in trouble?

We are currently experiencing problems with the login process for Internet Explorer users, which means that some members may be unable to get in to the Crossword Club. Our technical team is working on this issue, which is affecting all the sections of Times Online that are behind registration. If you have a Firefox browser, you should be able to log in as usual. We will let members know as soon as the problems have been resolved.

(Their Firefox suggestion works for me.)

  3. Further to 7dpenguin’s post, if the problem at The Times persists, then the following may be useful at the weekend.

    In fact, I pay my subscription each year but almost never sign in. My local home page has a table of links which drive a little bit of JavaScript to insert the current date and go directly to the selected crossword.

    Copy the following url.

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/crosswords/printOnly/1,,,00.html?linkName=&linkType=&crosswordID=&day=27&month=4&year=2006&type=x

    Insert the required date in the appropriate places.
    Replace the x at the end with the appropriate number from the following to get the required crossword.

    1 Times Daily Cryptic
    2 Times Daily Concise (including Saturday)
    3 Times Saturday Cryptic
    4 Times Saturday Jumbo Cryptic
    38 Times Saturday Jumbo Concise
    11 Times Sunday Cryptic

    1. Maybe you joined recently and don’t know the history, but in the 3 years since the discussion you’re responding to, there has been a replacement of pretty much the entire Crossword Club site, about one year ago. So advice given before that date may no longer apply.
