Times Quick Cryptic 3016 by Pipsqueak

Solving time: 8 minutes

Straightforward for me, but how did you do? [Edit: 08:14: Early comments below suggest this was harder than I had estimated].

As usual definitions are underlined in bold italics, {deletions and substitutions are in curly brackets} and [anagrinds, containment, reversal and other indicators in square ones]. “Aural wordplay” is in quotation marks. I usually omit all reference to juxtaposition indicators unless there is a specific point that requires clarification.

  1. CONSCIENCE and CONSTRAINT took a while otherwise no particular problems. Liked SIC and STONED. Very nice puzzle. Many thanks Jack and Pipsqueak.

  2. I have just given myself a hard kick because I missed LILAC. One of the most evocative scents of spring reminding me of many childhood walks as everyone seemed to have a lilac bush in those days – I planted a new one last year.
    Thanks jacket and pipsqueak

  3. Strange. There are only 64 comments, but they’re divided into “Older” and “Newer” pages.
