At last, LiveJournal have provided some statistics pages about blogs (more info for paid users than unpaid).
Our average number of page views per month is around 40,000. This is roughly half the number for the “Big Dave” blog about the Telegraph, which I’ll optimistically attribute to the relative popularity of the two puzzles, rather than the quality of the blogs.
There are other numbers too:
- We get around 1100 comments a month, but you could probably have guessed that
- 50 different logged in LJ users visited in the last week, and the end of the list of 100 different logged in visitors (listed by their most recent visit) is on July 6, so about 100 different logged-in users visited in the last month. Most of these have privacy settings that mean they’re shown as “invisible guest”. Of the visible ones, 15 are people I recognise as contributors or commenters, and 9 are names I’ve never seen before. So there are quite a few lurkers out there.
