How nice to be in our lovely new surroundings! Not the easiest today from Wurm, but with lots of effective misdirection and a broad range of clues it was very satisfying – even the anagrams seemed particularly well-constructed. I was left staring at 16ac for a while at the end which took me to 11 minutes. Many thanks to Wurm, and of course to everyone involved in creating such a great new home.

Only the first if these was unknown to me, and was consequently my LOI. Otherwise another solid and gettable puzzle from Tracy.

There was a lot of ‘going backwards forwards’ and some unknown but clearly clued terms but the answers kept on falling into place.

Hello hello hello, shiny happy people, and welcome to our shiny new site! (A warm welcome to matte and miserable people too, of course – I’m with you!) I am so grateful for all the brilliant work put in by the development team to bring us here.

This took a while to get going, and I stared for ages at 15dn until it twigged, so an above-par time of 9 minutes for me. Nice surfaces generally. My COD has to be 16ac.

A plethora of anagrams and double definitions from Mara today, my second consecutive blog of a Mara puzzle. I like the dd at 1d, and the device used to drop letters from 16d, and give clues of the day jointly to them. 1a was FOI. Hopefully you will all find this one satisfyingly doable. I don’t have an accurate time as busy doing other things, but I feel this was certainly within my target.

5:56, for what felt like a decent workout. There were a handful of words here I didn’t quite know, so writing this blog will be an education! Speaking of which, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I’ve been enrol(l)ed in a Master’s program here in New York City. I’ve just finished my last assignment of the semester, so I hope to return to daily puzzling after I finish my finals!

I made something of a meal of this, finishing in 12 minutes. Some good, fun clues to enjoy – thanks Breadman.

Solving time: 8 minutes. This is only Corelli’s 27th Quick Cryptic although he was amongst the original setters when the puzzle was introduced in 2014.

A slightly harder than average Quick Crossword, if my time (6:16) is anything to go by, from Hurley today. I found the long answers a bit tricky and got stuck trying, in vain, to make the answer to 13A VIRTUE. My LOI was 16D where I was expecting the King at the end not the beginning. Nice one. Thank-you Hurley. How did you all get on?
