A nicely composed puzzle, with a good sprinkling of wit and nothing to complain about.

I found this mostly straightforward. How did you do?

I have had an annoying cold this week, and it seems to have impacted my solving.   I felt very slow solving this one, even though my time was acceptable. 

DNF. Got almost all of these in a very reasonable 25 minutes or so, but got stuck on the last three for an eternity. Eventually made a guess on one, which was wrong (I hadn’t heard of the actual answer), and had to look up the other in the dictionary. Ah well!

Time taken: 6:51. I whizzed through this one and was about to declare it Not Tricky Thursday, but then I saw some of the other early times and maybe I was just lucky here.

A puzzle heavy on engineering and light on wit, I thought.
