Mephisto 3362 – This one’s for you, Larry!
Last Saturday I was still a bit under the weather, and couldn’t get anywhere with this puzzle. It really wasn’t that difficult, but I wasn’t sharp enough to tackle it, and couldn’t get any of the four long answers, which is the key to solving this particular grid.

Another new setter, Shay, joins the QC roster and, like some of their recent predecessors, kicks off with what I found was quite a tough puzzle.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1714 (25 January 2025)
I was very slow getting going but after a while it mostly flowed along quite nicely.
Times Cryptic 29142 – Sat, 1 Feb 2025. Eek – Greek!
Easy enough, apart from the Greek based medical term at 22ac.
Times 29147 – when in a wood, bay the bear.
A stiff enough test for a Friday, if workaday.
