Orpheus provides us with our final QC for 2024.
Month: December 2024
Times Cryptic 29114
The NW was a write-in but I really struggled elsewhere.
Times 29113 – Think Scandinavian
One or two unusual words and phrases, but in general a pretty accessible final Monday of the year.
Times Quick Cryptic 2872 by Mara
Dare I say this was mostly straightforward?
Mephisto 3356 – A motley one?
I had a little trouble getting started, but I made tolerable progress until the nearly the end. However the last few were pretty tough, and requited an extensive dictionary trawl.
Sunday Times Cryptic No 5143 by David McLean — Have yourself a merry little Christmas 🎵 🎶
A bag of assorted holiday candy that arrived a few days early.
Quick Cryptic no 2871 by Jalna
Jalna ends his year with a classy puzzle of medium difficulty
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1706 – A Tale of Two Cities, a port, a valley, a county, an island and a country
A puzzle of around average difficulty (GK notwithstanding), lifted by some lovely anagrams.
Times Cryptic 29106 – Saturday, 21 December 2024. Not solving … puzzled!
This seemed like the hardest Saturday puzzle for a very long time! Throw in several answers that I’d never heard of or barely remembered, and some trick definitions.
Times 29111 – ill met and proud
Solid, and quite difficult.
