I spent exactly an hour on this and solved all but two clues before resorting to aids to polish them off.

Mephisto 3268 – Like Peter, say?
While for the previous Mephisto I barely needed to touch Chambers, this John Grimshaw production will require considerable checking for most solvers. I had to make a number of guesses, most of which turned out to be correct.

Times Cryptic Jumbo No 1607 – 8th April
This was, I think, the trickiest, but also most fun, Jumbo for quite a while. Lots of witty, deceptive and whimsical definitions and wordplay made for an entertaining tussle.

I liked the reference to the Tennyson poem, even though that clue, along with some others at the top right, took me longest to see!
