Times 28521 – a tale of two guesses
A puzzle which I found easy except for the hard bits – well, if you don’t know the word, it’s harder.
Times QC 2326 – St Withins Day
I’m sure there is a typo at 7d, where “with” should be “within”. What with the backwards usage of “without”, which actually means “within”, I’m calling today St Withins Day.

I raced through this one, my only hold-up of significance being at 16ac.

It is not often that we publish a memorial for one of our commenters, but anyone who has been a regular user of the blog for at least a year or two will remember David Horry, who posted as Horryd while we were on LiveJournal, and as Meldrew on the current site.

It seemed a bit like the Friday puzzle had been held over for Monday for this one. I was dismayed to get only two answers on my first run through the across clues, but fortunately found the down clues more amenable.

I needed over an hour to plough through this but looking back on the clues while writing up the blog I’m not sure what held me up.
