Unofficial Times cryptic RTC contest No. 2 – results

In a week when even some of the most hardened competitors made mistakes, Jason kept his head to win the mini-championship despite spending close to half of the total time on one puzzle. the_od was the quickest of the rest and wins the star.  Competition for the spoon was fairly strong, with both tony_sever and talbinho having really bad weeks.  Tony takes it by a nose, as his two mistakes were expensive ones.

In the RTC table, good times for the five puzzles I completed correctly were just enough for me to pinch top place by a single point from Jason.

For the second week in a row, no mistake was made by more than one competitor. Correction: On Wednesday, 16D SIXPENCE and 27A ENDWAYS caught out Richard Grafen and talbinho, and on Friday, 4D CRATCHIT was missed by Linxit and talbinho.

  1. “… no mistake was made by more than one competitor.” That seems to be the case only because I must have got my formatting wrong in entering my scores. It was Wednesday’s puzzle (23,661) on which I failed to solve 16D and 27A – failures shared with talbinho.
