Times for The Times Summer Meetup

TOMORROWSaturday 15th June at The George, Borough High St from 12 noon.  After we had such fun with a summer get-together last year, attended by some TimesforTheTimes old hands, bloggers and commenters, we thought we would have another one. Read about last year’s here.

  1. I understand the Times Setters’ Lunch will be held on Wednesday 19th June. I was waiting to see if any train strikes might be announced and also finalise arrangements to go to Northern Ireland for our grandson’s birthday, before putting a post about a possible S&B gathering at the George in the same way Big Dave did before COVID struck.

Would anyone be interested in joining me that afternoon?

    1. Yes, Sue. That would be interesting if we get to meet some of the setters and editor too.

    2. Would love to join but residing in Korea makes it difficult!

I wonder if we could ever have an online meet up where we try to solve together? It would be great to get some tips for a relative newbie like me.

  2. Hi, I’m afraid the June 19th lunch is cancelled now, but I will be there on the 15th and will tell the setters in case anyone else can join us and raise a glass to Richard.

  3. Won’t be there this year John, but I just re-read your account of last year’s excellent gathering. A superb report, with the photos of The Rotter and the late apology from Richard Rogan adding extra poignancy.

A reminder to make the most of these opportunities while we can, so on that note I’ll just say see you next year! Have a great day tomorrow.

  4. I was hoping to attend, as I missed last year’s event, but having just returned from holiday I find I am needed to officiate at the golf club in a Charity Day event. I look forward to seeing the 2024 blog and am sorry to miss the no-baseball banter!

  5. For anyone arriving late and/or wondering where everyone is, we are in the new Coach House opposite the usual bar.

  6. Lovely to meet some members of the gang yesterday. Sad circumstances, but a fine speech from Mick, some great conversation, and amid the tumult (it sure was rowdy in there) some great memories of RR shared. Here’s to Bannsider once again.

  7. Yes, it was great to catch up with crossword friends, familiar and new. Mick’s speech was a fitting tribute to the much missed RR.

(It wasn’t rowdy before you arrived, Wiggly-Woo!)
