Sunday Times Christmas Crossword by Dean Mayer – Prematurely Posted!

As some of you will have already seen, I posted the blog for Dean’s “Christmas Special” early this morning (thanks for the comments to date) without realising it is still under embargo. Apologies for this breach of protocol – I’d just assumed it was the usual Sunday rhythm.

Peter B has requested it should be posted next Sunday instead. In the meantime, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

    1. Seasons Greetings Nick. I’m sure the blog will be as entertaining as the puzzle was! I got messed up last week as well when the Times chaps published the Champ puzzles in a different order; I await next Wednesday with interest and perhaps a blog!
  3. Well, I did this from The Times app and there was nothing to suggest that it was a prize crossword so no issues here Nick. Great puzzle though, Dean.

I just checked the facsimile newspaper and the only indication that anything is different from the usual arrangements is in tiny font in the very last line of the entry form at the foot of the Crossword section where it states “Entries close on Saturday January 2nd”. So unless one is actually completing the form it’s unlikely anyone would notice. And as others have stated, there’s nothing in the Club to indicate this.
