Sloggers and Betters 13

Posted on Categories Announcement
There will be a meeting for crossword setters and solvers at The George, Borough High Street, Southwark, London, SE1 1NH, coinciding with the annual Times Setters’ Lunch. The meeting will begin at 02:00 pm on Tuesday 24th May and continue until late into the evening.

It is hoped that a number of the Times setters will put in an appearance after their lunch. There should also be a cross-section of setters from other nationals, bloggers and readers from Times for the Times, Big Dave’s Crossword Blog and Fifteensquared.

If you’ve never been before, this is a very friendly function and provides the opportunity to meet other like-minded people.

  1. Something else on tomorrow evening, so will have to miss it this time.
    1. If that’s THE Anonymous David, then it was good to meet you. (And verlaine of course, and …)
      1. By my count this is the 1,032nd time I’ve sworn off ever drinking again, but it really feels like it might be different this time. Great to see everyone and well worth this morning’s sore head. Ow, ow, ow.
  2. Shame I had to miss it, but I had to work late and by the time I got out it wouldn’t have been worth going. I suspect my next chance of catching up will be in October.
    1. People were asking after you! Or at least, that’s what I eventually worked out, from “that guy with a cat on his head?”
  3. It was very good to meet a number of people yesterday including Tony and Verlaine.
As I might have said yesterday, if you don’t buy an Audi, listen to Einaudi -perfect background music for many things. David
