Apologies to all for the outages, but TimesforTheTimes is now running again on its standard address and the temporary one is no more. I need to do a few more changes to get comment notifications and our contact form to work, but everything else should work as normal. Let me know if you find something that doesn’t. Meanwhile there may be a few glitches in access due to some configuration changes still propagating. You may still get some errors – if you do clear your browser cache or access in incognito mode.

Well done, JI. This IT-Ledgerdomain is not as valuable as your knowledge of where to find the best pubs all over Cambridgeshire is, but it’s still been pretty valuable.
For the betting minded: what do you think the over/under for what the number of complaints in posts over the next week from casual users who didn’t twig that the host was being swapped out will be?
My guess is 4.
Well done John. NB: the “home” button at top of page needs its url updating. I would do it but couldn’t see how!
Thanks. That was weird. Now fixed. No doubt there will be others.
I’ve been having intermittent ‘unable to access messages’ especially on my tablet. I think I have cured this by clearing the cache – a tip that others may find useful.
Well done, indeed, and thank you.
Wow. Great work. Thank you!
John, are you aware that although the temp site has no blog content it still has up to date access to the blogs at this address via the calendar at the right of the page?
Getting a ‘Safari can’t establish a secure connection to the server “timeforthetimes.co.uk”’on Mac. Assume it’s just an ssl certificate problem. Sorry to give you another problem.
I’m on standard windows using Chrome and was getting that message a lot yesterday mid evening. It went away when I cleared my cache, so you might try doing that.
Thanks. Will wait a while to see if it clears first.
Thanks Jack, I had the same problem on Chrome. Cleared my cache and it now works. To get here I used Microsoft Edge but do wonder if other regular commenters will think the site is still down if they have only ever accessed it with Chrome and aren’t aware of the quick fix.
Even in Chrome it was only intermittent so if they persevere they should get in at some point. Just closing the browser and reopening it can make a difference.
Thanks for the excellent work and by way of reassurance everything I’ve accessed so far using both Windows/Chrome and Android phone is working fine.
Thanks so much for all your work on this John. So far so good on this “new old” site, using Safari on an iPad and Edge on a Windows laptop. None of the Error 500 messages and posting, both comments and a blog, has been no problem.
I know zilch about web hosting etc, so I can’t really appreciate how much you’ve had to do but I suspect it was a lot of work – you deserve a break!
Thanks again.
Thanks for all your hard work on this John.
Congratulations! These things never go smoothly. Thanks for all the hard work.
Thank you indeed. I submitted my post without copying to clipboard in full confidence.
Thank you for all your efforts. You don’t appreciate how much you like something until it is taken away.
thank you very much for sorting it out. highly appreciated!
Thank you, John. Great stuff 🙂
Thanks so much for all your efforts on our behalf.
Thank you John, you’re a TfTT Hero!
This is ever so much better. Thank you!
Many thanks John. A job well done! Bravo!
Thank you so much for all your hard work. Very much appreciated 😀
Great job, John!!
Well done, John … now if you could just solve the crosswords for me.
Well done John.
Thank you for your hard work John. Much appreciated.
I was about to give up after a couple of days of being unable to get to the site but thought to try “in private” browsing and lo, it worked. Very relieved to have my daily fix of TftT back. Thank you
Many thanks. You don’t realise how helpful the site is until it’s not there!
Many thanks John, have missed the site – you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.
Thank you so much John for all your hard work and perseverance in restoring TfTT. Hugely appreciated.
Great to have it back working properly. Sounds as though it was hard work to achieve – many thanks.
Great job John 👏👏👏
