New look crossword club – anyone else unable to get in?

After escaping some previous changes unscathed, it seems to be my turn for not being able to log in with an e-mail address/pwd combo that’s worked for ages. Is anyone else out in the cold?

Solution to the problem, a couple of days later: use web browser’s cookie management tools to delete all its ‘timesonline’ cookies.

  1. I’ve just this moment logged in OK, Peter. I always use Firefox these days as I found regular problems with Microsoft.
  2. Initially I could not log in just a new window informing “your session has expired” , however I’ve just tried again and this time all was well.

    1. Success. I deleted all Times cookies and approached through the main newspaper site and it all worked.

My difficulties might have to do with the fact that at work I have no choice of browser – only IE6.

  3. … so assume there’s some glitch with my Firefox login which will get sorted out somehow …
  4. I’m now in on IE.

The site seems quite pretty, but immediately – just for fun – I tried replicating my morning routine of printing the daily cryptic for the train.

Lo and behold, two pages required! We had this problem a few years ago on the old site but they fixed it. Eventually.

I have emailed them, but do not anticipate an early fix. Unlike the Guardian site which responded to, and fixed, a problem I had with their site within thirty minutes last week.

    And they’re free!

  5. I had no problems logging in using IE. Is it possible your saved Bookmark/Favourite needs to be renewed? I’ve had problems with that in the past. I went in via the newspaper today, not straight to the log-in page.
