Mephisto 2913 – Don Manley

Posted on Categories Mephisto
Took me a little longer to get into this puzzle, and kind of worked my way from the bottom up. There was one entry that struck me on the right hand side as looking very familiar, and I thought it might have been an Azed clue-writing competition word (the next one comes out tomorrow!), but it appears I knew it because it appeared twice in a couple of months in Mephisto puzzles last year; Tim Moorey used it in Mephisto 2839 and Paul McKenna in Mephisto 2852.

Away we go…

  1. No problem with this one which was a steady left to right solve. Agreed with Vinyl about BRATTISH-ED at 1A.
  2. Whooops – I was in a rush yesterday. Ta for the corrections and apologies for the misattribution
  3. Just finished this today, after a week that was too busy for blogging and Mephisto solving. Nothing too hard. I didn’t understand 6dn, but that was because in spite of understanding the wordplay perfectly I somehow thought I was looking for a programming language called AIA,
