Hmmm – well my greatest challenge here was the number of names of people, living or dead (and one where if you looked at a recent photograph, you’d be hard pressed to tell) that were used as wordplay elements and as answers – most of them have their own websites.
I see that one of the other regular Mephisto setters has a crossword in Latin in the Times this weekend. I have tried crosswords in French and Spanish but I don’t think I’d fare to well in a Latin crossword unless AMAMUS was clued as “A mother mouse”.
Nice to see Tim Moorey giving a shout out to my adopted state at 23 across!
