  1. I had never heard of leister, but fortunately had heard of Crowley, who was evidently rather a creep as well as a mystic. He’s the inspiration, in part at least, of the wonderful Dr. Trelawney in Anthony Powell’s even more wonderful ‘Dance to the Music of Time’; his mantra is
