  1. I would spell it Caesarean .. mind you, I do spell it wrong half the time
  2. Took me 86:45 but I got there unscathed. PARALLELWISE is a strange word! Thanks setter and sgh.
  3. If I’m very much mistaken, “Steptoe and Son” was adapted in the US as “All in the Family”, with Carroll Thing as a bigoted, bad-tempered, right-wing –yet somehow, supposedly, loveable– cab driver and Rob Reiner as his son-in-law. I’ve never seen ‘Caesarian’ spelled that way, although my English-Japanese dictionary gives it as an alternative spelling.

    1. I think All in the Family was the US version of Till Death Us Do Part. Steptoe and Son was about a father and son team of rag and bone men. The father was repellent and the son had frustrated artistic and cultural aspirations.
      1. So I am, indeed, very much mistaken. Could I have been thinking of “Sanford and Son”, with Redd Foxx? I believe he played a rag and bone man; never saw the program.
        1. I think that may well be the US equivalent – at least Wikipedia says that it was based on Steptoe and Son.
