  1. One of the very rare Jumbi that I timed myself on. A couple of DNKs–39ac, 36ac, 44ac, and 28d; that last one is in ODE without any indication of dialect, but not listed int the American ODE, and all ODE’s examples are British English. No COD, but I liked 24ac.
  2. 36:47, which is well under an average time for me for a Jumbo. DNK the Indian mathematician, but guessed he had to be and DNK VIREMENT but the wordplay was clear. I liked 57A which reminded me of my cousin Father Judo’s post-prandial grace.. “God be praised, my tummy is raised 6 inches above the table”…. after eating some PROFITEROLES, perhaps? That was my COD.
  3. I did this in 71:26, but failed to see the right type of country at 9d. RUSSIA was my nemesis. Drat! I had to look up the NHO VIREMENT. Thanks setter and sgh.
  4. Thanks for the blog. This was definitely on the easy side, beating my previous PB by over 20 minutes.
  5. As you say over there, nothing to scare the horses. LOI RUN A MILE.
    ONG’ARA,
    NAIROBI.
  6. Oh, BTW also wrote in RUSSIA at 9 just as John dun, overconfidence can be dangerous.
    Ong’ara.
