  1. The only Don river I knew was the one that flows quietly to the sea, so I had to assume that Yorkshire has one, too. I wondered about the definition in 53ac: does anyone want ILL HUMOUR? Indeed, grouches might be the very ones to welcome ill humor. Anyway, COD to 23ac.
  2. A sluggish 55:18 and I had to use google to confirm ABREACTION as opposed to ABRECATION, which then allowed me to see 50a. I liked 23a too:-) Thanks setter and sghanson.

  3. I struggled with the 50ac/38dn intersection too.
CLASSIFIED took me a while but the C helped with ABREACTION.

    ILL HUMOUR
    Maybe ‘want’ means ‘lack’ here?

    Thanks setter and also sghanson.
