  1. Straightforward enough, although it still took me ages, as Jumbos usually do. Never heard of TIGER COUNTRY, but a few checkers made it pretty much a sure thing. Never did parse PROSAIC, and now I see why. Ditto for 20ac, where TORN seems rather a stretch for ‘faced with a decision’. LOI 54ac. Some nice clues, including 45ac, 56ac, 48d inter alia.
