To give everyone an impetus to download it and give it a go, I decided to blog it in Times for the Times. I have written the blog already, but will not post it for 48 hours in order to give those who have not yet tried it a chance. As Andy pointed out, the puzzle is now available as a PDF at http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=44283360823260239153. Several people have complained about malware at the tinyupload.com site, so please use my upload at http://home.earthlink.net/~vinyl1/Science0207150001.pdf instead.
Please do not post any comments that give away answers! All will be revealed in two days. And thanks to The Rotter for this enjoyable puzzle, containing a few answers that will certainly never make the main Times puzzle.

Anyone in this situation can get the clues from TheRotter’s comments in Verlaine’s blog of July 24. The grid is the same as the puzzle Verlaine blogged, 26154. Real cut-and-paste, with scissors and tape, still works!

And thanks again to vinyl for finding a solution.
