Club troubles / Relaunch

I had a log-in failure this morning to match those I’ve seen sporadically reported by others recently, but it now seems to be fixed.

Back on December 23, they said that “Times Online would like to announce that the Times Crossword Club will be relaunched in January, with a new-look design, easier-to-access puzzles and a fully searchable archive dating back to 2000. More details to follow soon.” With about 10 days of January to go, nothing yet – relaunch or news. I’d love to be wrong, but my guess is that they’re going to miss the boat.

  1. Yes, I had problems this morning as mentioned in the crossword thread. I was particularly concerned about the user-id field being populated by a strange user-name (Alwyndavid1) and wondered if this might be someone at the Times working on the site. Don’t know if this is possible though or whether I need to look elsewhere to solve the problem.
  2. Evidently your doubts have spurred them on, Peter… I take it we have all had the email announcing the relaunch on Tuesday 27th?

    God help us all…
