Club Monthly 20117 (June)

Having volunteered to cover this one I was hoping for something reasonably straightforward and so it turned out.

Completed in three shortish sessions, less than an hour overall. I find that these types of puzzles often benefit from a break to allow the brain to work on in the background. Often, immediately after returning
a number of clues are solved that seemed dead ends previously.

As with jerrywh, for whom I am covering, a reminder that this blog is published after the closing date for entries, but before the solution is published – so the accuracy of the solution is not guaranteed.

  1. Yes, I think you were lucky as this was rather easier than some of late. Still a good crossword however that had a number of pleasing clues. Well done on the blog!!
  2. back from foreign parts now.. many thanks for standing in. I did think this one was perhaps somewhat easier than the previous few but it would still be right at the top end of the normal cryptic range. The Club Monthly is always very tightly clued, isn’t it?.. engineered like a Swiss watch 🙂
