A neat if relatively straightforward puzzle, with nothing to scare our equine companions.

50 minutes.

I ran into a bit of trouble, expecting a normal Monday puzzle.    However, when I couldn’t see any answers in my initial scan, I had to step up my game, and use the experienced solvers tricks to get going.

25:08. Not the most strenuous puzzle on the whole, but there were some very cleverly-worded clues that had me scratching my beard for several minutes at a time.

If completing a difficult cryptic crossword is like climbing a mountain, I thought this one was not testing us beyond the foothills.

An enjoyable puzzle with some inventive clues along the way but others perhaps a little perfunctory.
