A pleasant, mid-level Wednesday puzzle.

I found enough easy answers to make a confident start in all quarters of the grid but then hit problems and slowed to a crawl.

Another easy Monday, although the preponderance of longish answers provided some challenges, along with some interesting words.

DNF. I think a lot of the wordplay here was quite tricky (more lifting and separating than you might find in a pilates class), but I fairly raced through this one until I got to the upper-left corner. After 15 minutes of beard-scratching, I still wasn’t able to get 1 Across or Down, so I threw in the towel.

Time taken: 12:27. Not all the way to Tricky Thursday, but I found this one the most difficult of the week so far.

A reasonably gentle offering which took me about twenty minutes.

I didn’t enjoy this much.
