This is rather harder than your average Monday, my time of 31:50, however, being inflated by some careless biffing at 1 down.

An easy one today – even by Monday standards.

There were certainly some tricky pieces of vocab here, but that apart it was pretty much a glorified quickie.

No fewer than five, perhaps, six, cryptic definitions (of varying efficacy) make this quirky piece more difficult than your average Monday fare.

This was your friendly Monday offering, with a token unknown word thrown in, but so generously clued that it’s unlikely to stymie too many seasoned solvers.

Some quirky clues and a bit of recondite vocab characterise this Monday offering, and mark it out from typical week-opening fare.

Far be it from me to suggest this is in any way an inferior offering. As always, I enjoyed the challenge – the irritating bits, the quirky bits and all.

A nice little number for the start of the working week, featuring quite a few clues requiring letters to be transplanted from clue to solution.

Apart from that quibble, I enjoyed this – as I enjoy most puzzles (must be easy to please) – and came home in 18:16.
