For those who may not know already, today is a Bank Holiday in the UK and there is a Cryptic Jumbo #1559 available. I’m not sure if we will get another one for tomorrow’s Platinum Jubilee so look out for it just in case.

My solving time was 28 minutes. A grid containing 7 zeds and a double-helping of PIZZA might suggest there’s something special going on, but if there is I’ve failed to spot it.

There were a few tricky bits along the way here so I was surprised to find myself finished in 23 minutes.

I solved all but one answer in 8 minutes but then suffered a complete brain freeze.

Solving time: 33 minutes. An interesting and mostly enjoyable puzzle that seemed to take longer to solve than the time recorded on the clock.
Quick Cryptic 2130 by Corelli
Solving time: 8 minutes. This is only Corelli’s 27th Quick Cryptic although he was amongst the original setters when the puzzle was introduced in 2014.
Times Cryptic 28280
Solving time: 41 minutes. There were some tricky clues here but I worked my way through it steadily and was reasonably satisfied with my solving time.
