Times Quick Cryptic 2201 by Trelawney

Mephisto 3232 – Insect attack!
Like most Don Manley Mephistos, I was able to finish this one without much difficulty. I got a few almost immediately, and they opened up the grid for me. The hardest thing in a Mephisto is getting started, since a few crossing letters are amazingly helpful in parsing in the clues.
Sunday Times Cryptic 5019 by Dean Mayer — Take a deep breath…
I plunged in at the easy 15-letter CD 10 and, after getting a few others quickly, was thinking this might be a cinch. Then I tackled 13, obviously an anagram, and when I surfaced with the (absolutely wonderful) answer, realized that I was heading into more treacherous waters.
Times Cryptic Jumbo 1568 – 30 July 2022
Hello again. This Jumbo I thought was not too difficult, bar a couple of quite tricky clues and one I thought unfair. I solved it while watching our ladies’ football team, the Lionesses, beat Germany to win the European Championships, hurrah! so all in all I had a great evening.
