Greetings, barred grid fans for the all 3’s edition of Mephisto

Yeah, I’m the dummy who said last week’s Mephisto was too easy – sorry about that.   This one had me hunting up and down in Chambers all week, and I still had a few to do earlier today, so I had to sit down and grind them out.

I didn’t find this particularly hard, and I was able to use Paul’s pun  to help me finish.   Once again, the percentage of obscure words in the answers was not that high, although the cryptics were a little tougher.

I did not find this too difficult, although I was too tired last Saturday to complete it in one sitting, and in fact the remainder got held over for quite a while.   However, I did manage to complete it before the next one came out.

This one was not too difficult for me, although I didn’t finish in one sitting.    There are a couple of words in here that would be more appropriate for Larousse than Chambers, but they are in fact in Chambers – why, I couldn’t say.

Ever since I signed myself up as a Mephisto blogger in 2020, I have completed Mephisto every week.   Once in a while, I may have been off by a letter or two, but the grid has always been filled.   The main reason I can do this is that I always have a few checking letters to get a foothold.
