I did like the construction of 19d which is one of only two English words still in use ending in these three letters.

Fairly gentle (as long as you avoid the pitfall)

Nothing too tricky it would seem, just took a while to piece together

A QC puzzle that should please many if not most.

I found this quite tricky in places, and was not helped by a brief spousal ’emergency’

Hopefully, you didn’t find this puzzle too troubling – to me, it appeared to be of the ‘fairly gentle’ variety
