New Saturday Quick Cryptic begins this week

The new Saturday Times Quick Cryptic puzzle starts this week and will appear Saturday January 6th.

I was rather surprised to run through this in only 22 minutes.

A Happy New Year to one and all!

I found this mostly straightforward but I lost time over the Scottish team.

I would have finished this well within my target half-hour but for the fruit at 13ac which added a good 6 or 7 minutes to my solving time.

My solving time of 14 minutes suggests this was not entirely straightforward.

Not at all easy. My solving time was 58 minutes.

I did not find this particularly easy but it was an enjoyable solve.

Solving time: 9 minutes. How did you all do?

Much of it was plain-sailing but there were some choppy waters along the way.
