    I found this a lot tougher than the previous week’s, eventually limping home with a bunch of clues barely understood at all.

    I’m therefore grateful for the explanations for dicastery, illusion, amylum, orange and react.

    1. Not surprised you had difficulty with AMYLUM. How PM managed to contrive that anagram I can’t imagine. I got it from checkers and then worked back to the cryptic. Well done you for finishing.
  2. I’ve been out of town for a while, but checking back in on the barred-grid solutions I missed. Surely 12 is ESPRESSIVO and EXPRESSO for coffee lives on only in “Absolutely Fabulous”?
  3. A very late comment from me: I’ve been very busy lately and have fallen well behind in my Mephisto and Azed solving. But just wanted to say thanks for the blog, in particular explaining NO MORE and ORANGE. They seemed to be the only things that fitted but I couldn’t parse either.
