Mephisto 2899, Tim Moorey

Rather a surprise – my brother’s family is visiting this weekend on pretty short notice, so I haven’t written up the Mephisto yet. I hope to have it done by mid-afternoon Sunday UK time, in the meantime feel free to post hive mind questions here, I’m sure they will be answered in due course.

And we’re back – the time of eggs and daylight savings is with us all again. This fell in a single solve, most of it without resort to Chambers, so I think we are on the gentler side of the Mephisto, though there are a few unusual wordplay elements you wouldn’t find in the daily puzzle.
