Unofficial Times cryptic RTC contest No. 7 – results

The key to success this week was avoiding mistakes on 23,691 and 23,694. Only four entrants came through unscathed, with Mark Goodliffe taking a fairly easy win in both contests and becoming the first to bag the fastest time for 5 out of 6 puzzles. He also tore up the part of my script that says that it’s the times for the hard puzzles that really matter, by ripping through the four relatively easy ones. John P Marshall and foggyweb share the star for clean sheets which got them their best places so far in the mini-champs. In the RTC contest, fgbp and talbinho both scored well from their five correctly completed puzzles.

  1. Sorry for the late reply but I’ve been incommunicado since these results were posted. I actually made 2 errors in 23690, which bumps me down to 7th in the mini-champ table. Apologies for the error, don’t quite see how I managed it given that I listed both clues immediately after writing ‘1,’ and also mentioned the two errors beneath!
