๐ŸŽ„ Entries Now Closed – Quickie Christmas Crossword Challenge ๐ŸŽ„

Itโ€™s that time of year, Christmas Cruciverbalists… TFTT is pleased to announce the Christmas Quickie Crossword Challenge.

If you are feeling festive and want to showcase your clue-writing skills now is your chance.

Hosted by Flashman, with lashings of brandy and a sprinkle of &Lits, this is your chance to help create a seasonal Quickie masterpiece.

How to Join:

  • Comment below to register participation and claim a clue.
  • We want regular Quickie solvers to take part.
  • We are using a classic 15ร—15 Times-style grid.
  • There are 28 words available.
  • Each clue writer will only see their assigned word, and so will still be able to enjoy solving the puzzle when it is published.
  • Once signed up you will receive an email with instructions after a few days.
  • Responses are due by 13 December.

Letโ€™s make this yearโ€™s puzzle a cracker! ๐ŸŽ…โœจ

Update

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in the Quickie Christmas Crossword. We received a large number of entries and unfortunately, not everyone could be accommodated. Apologies to those who couldnโ€™t be included this timeโ€”hopefully, you can join us next year. Those taking part will be emailed today. If any spots open up, I will contact those in reserve.

Stay tuned for updates: the puzzle will be published on Saturday 21 December with blogged solutions on Thursday 26 December ๐ŸŽ„

        1. Thank you for asking Flashman. No, I’ll look forward to enjoying the hard work of others. The truth is I’m really hopeless at creating clues.

  1. Yes please (regular solver but infrequent commenter on the QC, so happy for others to take the spot if there’s an over-supply)

  2. What a great idea, Flashman, and thanks for taking this on. I’d be happy to help in any way but won’t apply for a clue this time as I’m sure you will not be short of volunteers.

    1. Indeed, thanks for thinking of me. Iโ€™d like to have a go, and hope to be able to incorporate Eton, Tum=corporation and PI.

  3. I must be too late for the party , but I would have been happy to participate. I was privileged to have my clue suggestions accepted by sotira when she organised the Christmas Turkey some years ago: thanks for taking on the mantle.

  4. Many thanks for taking this on Flashman- so pleased to see it being resurrected ๐Ÿ˜Š My attendance is probably classified as irregular these days, so I don’t think I’d qualify to design a clue anyway but I look forward to seeing the end result ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ
